'Zahra character competition'
The CMN and BiBi publishing in association with Luton Central library proudly presents the 'create a Luton fictional character' for the fourth unreleased book- 'Zahras adventures at the Khadija Academy' written by London author Sufiya Ahmed.
Children have been especially invited to create a character with roots from Luton to be featured in this fantastic book!!
The pupils of Beech Hill then had an opportunity to ask Sufiya about the book.
A workshop was then conducted by the Library staff inviting the girls to think about creating a character for the book.
The competition was launched in all the local branches in Luton over the summer and the Zahra adventures included on the Summer reading challenge. Chapters from the book had been read over 'Radio Ramadan' and books given as prizes to children answering ' Zahra' related quiz questions by the CMN.
Sufiya Ahmed proudly announced Afzals win to a wonderful audience at a 'Eid storytelling Zahra themed' event at Luton Central library on the 26th of Sept 2009.

The overwhelming sucsess, and international/national interest of 'the create a fictional character in Luton', has led to the CMN and BiBi publishing partnering once again in helping to find 'Zahra a friend' in different cities and towns all over England
